Startup Stories
Stories from experienced founders who have grown their companies internationally and know what it takes to build a global startup from Serbia.
Startup Stories have been a staple event at Garaža since 2022. These meetups give startups in our community direct access to seasoned founders who are open about the journey of scaling their startups and what actually worked and what didn’t. They are informal, interactive, and grounded in real experience, so our members get honest answers and practical insights.
Roundtable format
We use the roundtable format for Startup Stories because it creates a relaxed, open atmosphere where real experiences and practical knowledge can be shared. It’s interactive, takes the pressure off the speaker, and gives everyone at the table a chance to ask meaningful questions and learn directly from those who’ve been through it.
Chatham House Rule
These meetups are meant to be a safe space where information can flow freely without the fear of misuse of our trust. For that reason, these gatherings operate under the Chatham House Rule, meaning that you are free to use any information that you hear, but cannot use the identity or affiliation of the speaker or participants.
Past Founder Stories
So far, we have had the opportunity to host almost all of the most successful founders of Serbian startups. They got a space to share their valuable experience and directly help emerging startups through Startup Stories meetups.

Najčešća pitanja
Can I attend Garaža meetups?
For public Garaža meetups, you can register on our Luma calendar. Leave your email, and that way you will be informed about Garaža events intended for your profile.
Internal meetups such as Startup Stories, Founder Dinner, Coworking, etc., are intended exclusively for founders and operators who are members of the Garaža community, and registration is not possible.
Are the meetups free to attend?
Yes, all Garaža meetups are free to attend.
Are Startup Stories meetups recorded?
We do not record Startup Stories meetups. We foster an atmosphere of trust and a safe space for sharing experiences, which is why we apply the Chatham House rule at all our events, which is in contrast to recording.
Why Chatham House rule?
We apply the Chatham House Rule to create a space where speakers and participants can talk openly and honestly, without worrying that their experiences will be shared without their consent. This encourages more meaningful conversations, real stories, and lessons that wouldn’t be shared in a recorded format.
